Mallorca has all you can ever desire when one thinks of the perfect seashore. Everyone from little kids to robust swimmers can be a water baby on this gentle Balearic Island, where the sea is clean and calm.
Enjoy the capital of Palma, in the city you can come across excellent dining establishments, an impressive cathedral and lots of beautiful buildings. Afterwards you can take the train through the Serra de Tramuntana mountains to the cozy town of S ller. The journey is extremely enchanting.
Cala Mondrag in the south of the island offers two lovely stretches of sand, you can swim from one bay to another.
Enhanced by conventional wooden-fronted houses and a wide harbour, Porto Colom is a pleasant fishing village. A strip of lively dining establishments on the waterfront and a fine beach is not that enough?.
For cuisine and beverage, Mallorcan specialities include delicious pa amb oli, which is bread rubbed with olive oil and eaten with fruit, cheese or ham, and ensa mada, a sweet, flaky pastry. Be sure to try some of the seafood stews and fresh fish or delicious paellas available in several dinning establishments. During the season there will be markets in different cities. Here you’ll find everything your heart wishes of cheese, olives, fruit and vegetables. For fresh fish, go to Cala Figuera, where fishermen bring in the catch at about 5pm.
